We don’t always think of winter as the most stylish of seasons. Outside of New Year’s and holiday looks, it can be tough not to fall into a pattern of simply wearing the same dark-wash jeans and gray cashmere sweaters day in and day out. But this year we’re determined to add a little extra flair to our cold-weather looks, now we know exactly where to start. Both have seen major increases in interest in these seven trends, and we suspect that excitement will only continue to grow. So, if you too want to give your wardrobe a stylish boost, here are the only Five winter fashion trends you need to know.
Knitted Dress :
Try to go with your knee high boots and knit dresses for the seasons. If the weather becomes colder, you can put on a trench coat or a vest coat to keep warm and pop up the look. When you are going to pair your long knit dresses, you can consider a pair of simple sneakers.
Knee-High Boots :
Knee-high boots will never really be out of style, but this winter they’re at the very top of our shopping list as a must-have item, rather than just a basic staple. The best options truly are basic, Wear them with skinny jeans or leggings and a tailored blazer or with skirts or dresses that hit at least two inches above the top of your boots.
Sweater Dresses :
Sweater dresses will forever be one of our absolute favorite ways to combine comfort and style, but they’re having a particular flash of popularity as we navigate between venturing out into the world again while still spending a lot of time at home. The trick to making them look chic instead of dowdy? Add a thin belt at the waist and keep your accessories sleek and minimal.
Blazers :
A blazer is a type of jacket resembling a suit jacket but cut more casually. A blazer is generally distinguished from a sports coat as a more formal garment and tailored from solid colour fabrics. Blazers often have naval-style metal buttons to reflect their origins as jackets worn by boating club members. Your blazer should be fitted (not tight!) across your shoulders. The hem of your blazer should skim your hipbone. The sleeves of your blazer should hit mid-thumb when your arms are down at your sides.
Chunky Heel High Boots :
When purchasing knee-high boots, you will want to pay attention to the fit. They are meant to be snug around your calves, but certainly so tight that it is uncomfortable or causes your skin to bulge. Don’t squeeze your legs into them. The zip should be able to go up all the way to the top.
